Unfortunately, because of the bulk and labor involved with processing, some items have a small fee attached to them. Residents and businesses can dispose of an unlimited number of tires at a charge of $.07 per pound with or without rims. The average car tire is 14-inches and costs about $1.40 to recycle without a rim. Other types of tires (tractor, etc.) are also accepted at the same charge. If Recycling Center Staff have to stack the tires, the charge increases to $.09 per pound. Other automotive materials, such as used oil and oil filters, anti-freeze and windshield washer fluid, may be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Regional Collection Center.
